In 2020 Scott and I went to the house Mica was renting with Michelle MacCalman to ask them about Phoenix. We had discovered that Phoenix was being used to create pornography and that this pornography was degrading, humiliating, and hurtful to females and other gendered people. We also learned that the reason Phoenix was hospitalized in September 2019 was that Rafael had taken them to all the major cities to develop content and market them during the previous summer. They were also forced to make videos from their hospital room. When we arrived at Mica’s place, we saw Rafael with a UHaul, and a white SUV parked in the driveway. As we drove up, they all ran inside and hid (Do you see the curtains move in the video?) Before these two men arrived, Scott was forced to jump out of the way as Michelle and Emily (her sister) ran from the house to the white SUV in the driveway and rapidly drove away. Shortly thereafter, these two men---one identified as Uncle Dave by an instagramer, Sienna Nesbit Fox-- drove up and accosted us. They blocked the road with their truck and distracted us as Mica and four or five other people ran from the house (Why did such a small house have so many people in it?) and piled into a small black car that took off through the empty grass lot across the street. Mica was crying. (Maybe in punishment because we showed up, Mica was later forced to give up their support dog, Buffy. They also lost their phone to Rafael, who would now control all their outside communication.) When we attempted to follow Rafael, these two men jumped on our car. As you can see in the video, someone grabs Scott. Although we said to these men, that as adults, both Mica and Phoenix should be allowed to talk to us, and to tell us to go away, we were unable to communicate directly with them. We called the police, who said that there may be domestic violence, but there was nothing they could do unless minors were involved, or one of the adults filed charges against Rafael. Why were they all so afraid?
